- When does a new week start with my meal swipes?
-
For traditional meal plan purposes, the week always starts on Sunday. As an example, if you are on a 19 meal plan, you will start out every Sunday brunch with 19 meals on your Buff OneCard. These meals will be available through dinner the following Saturday. There is a daily limit of four accesses.

- Can I change my meal plan? How?
-
Any changes to meal plans should be submitted prior to halls opening for fall semester. Students that request meal plan changes and are approved for fall semester, will be assessed a $50 administrative fee after August 18, 2010. Meal plan changes requested and approved for spring semester from December 1, 2010 through January 4, 2011 will not be assessed an administrative fee. Students requesting and approved for spring semester meal plan changes after January 4, 2011 will be assessed a $50 administrative fee.
After these dates, there will be a $50 administrative fee. All first-year students are required to be on a traditional 19 or 15 meal plan. Meal plan change requests can be submitted to the Occupancy Management Office by letter (to University of Colorado, 75 Hallett Hall, 159 UCB, Boulder, CO 80309-0159), by fax (303-735-2222), or by e-mail. Prices for CU Off-Campus Meal Plans after the semester begins will be prorated.

Releases from meal plan assignments are generally not given unless a student terminates occupancy from the residence halls. However, if documented and severe circumstances, clearly beyond the control of the student, make it unreasonable for the university to expect the student to maintain an assigned meal plan, the student may petition to amend the assignment. Written petitions should be addressed to the Housing & Dining Services dietitian or designee and will not be accepted after August 18, 2010 for the fall semester, and January 4, 2011 for the spring semester. The student will receive written approval or denial of the petition within 30 days of submission.

- Can I use my meal plans at UMC restaurants or Flatiron off-campus restaurants?
-
No. Your residential meal plan, CU Off-Campus Meal Plan swipes, and Munch Money and Campus Cash are accepted at the five campus dining centers and the five campus grab-n-go outlets. Your Munch Money is also accepted, along with Campus Cash, cash, and credit, at the housing-run convenience stores.
-
- How does the Munch Money program work?
-
Munch Money works like real money. Items are individually priced in the retail outlets. The value of your selections is totaled and then deducted from your Munch Money account. Munch Money may also be used to treat a guest to a meal in any of the all-you-care-to-eat dining centers or to pick up a quick meal in any of the grab-n-go outlets. This transaction is completed at the check stand.top

- What happens when my Munch Money runs out?
-
Purchase Campus Cash online or in person at Willard, room 182 (hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday). Campus Cash can be used in all Housing & Dining operations. Unused Campus Cash will remain on a student's Buff OneCard until they leave the university.
-
- What happens if I don't use all of my Munch Money?
-
Plan on using all of your Munch Money in the current semester, as Munch Money does not roll over the following semester.top
-
- Due to my class schedule, I sometimes miss meals in the dining centers. Are there other meal options available to me?
-
Between the dining centers, grab-n-go outlets and retail operations, dining services are available from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight on weekdays and from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight on weekends. Dining Services strives for a balance between operating costs and customer service needs while functioning in a fiscally responsible manner.
-
- What should I do if I have special dietary needs or food allergies?
-
Dining Services is committed to providing students with a variety of healthy and nutritious meal options including vegetarian and vegan selections in all dining operations. However, as over 10,000 meals are served per day, individual meal requests can be considered only with appropriate supportive documentation from your attending physician and/or clergyman. Petition forms are available through Dining Services (25 Hallett Hall; 303-492-6325). Meal plan petitions will only be considered during the first two weeks of each semester. If you have special dietary needs that are not being met, we urge you to contact the registered dietitian at 303-492-6325.
