Housing & Dining Services

When to apply and waitlists

Applicants can apply for Family Housing only after they receive their CU Identikey and password. Students will receive this information in their admissions packet. Faculty/staff will receive this information at some point between the time they are offered employment and their first day at work. Please call the Family Housing office with questions about this policy.

When applicants apply they can request to move in any day of the month, and family housing staff will try to find an apartment within ten days on either side of that move-in date. The rent will be prorated starting the date the apartment is available.

Current residents who are moving out are required to give 45 days notice and thus, Family Housing does not know what will be available around a requested move-in date until that time. Applicants will receive an offer approximately 30-50 days before their requested move-in date. Applicants Are be required to provide an eligibility document (e.g. acceptance letter, full-time schedule, letter from university department) in order to receive an apartment offer.

General length of time applicants spend on waitlists by apartment type:
Studio: 12-18 months
One Bedroom: 6-12 months
Two Bedroom: 3-6 months
