Academic Support

Academic support encompasses a variety of services and programs for students. Academic support residents (ASRs), Faculty Fellows Program, Committee on Academic Programs in the Residence Halls are all apart of ASAP.

Academic Support Resident

The academic support residents are live-in student staff members who possess extensive knowledge about academic resources available to students on campus, create and implement academically oriented programs (e.g. Study Skills 101, Time Management, etc.), and who advertise important academic deadlines through bulletin boards and a monthly newsletter.

Community Academic Programs in the Residence Hall (CAPRH)

The mission of this program is to help residence hall students succeed through the creation of student and faculty relationships outside of the classroom. CAPRH has funds available for community programs created and implemented by students, faculty and staff. The goals of this program increase overall participation in CAPRH among residence life student staff members and hall leaders, to serve as a liaison and resource for the university community, and to enhance and develop relationships with CU faculty. Some examples of CAPRH programs are: Sushi and discussion of Asian Culture, Planetarium and Star Gazing night, Ghost Stories of CU Boulder, and many more.

Faculty Fellows Program

The premise behind the Faculty Fellows Program is to develop a long term program that connects faculty and residents to entrench a professor in a hall community so that the professor is a visible presence while building individual and group relationships. This program is managed by CAPRH. The Faculty Fellows participate in opening and floor meetings, attend five meals in the residence halls, presents one conversational program, and more.
