  1. Are rooms wired with Ethernet?

    All student units in the residence halls are wired with Ethernet, one jack per unit. (College Inn provides only wireless Internet access.)

  2. Do you provide wireless Internet?

    Yes. All residence halls have wireless Internet except for Smith Hall.

  3. If my building doesn’t have wireless Internet yet, can I set up my own wireless router?

    No. Personal routers are prohibited in all residence halls, family housing, and Bear Creek. Improper set-up can easily disrupt connectivity to an entire floor, building, or area. Additionally, one in five routers aren’t equipped with any security, leaving the network wide open to hackers.

  4. Is there a charge for computer hook-ups?

    No. The cost for installation and operation of the ResNet system is already built into the existing room and board charges for your room.

  5. Do you have cable TV?

    Yes. Basic cable service is free. Premium channels are available through Comcast Cable Service.

  6. Do I have to get my own phone service hooked up?

    Yes. Landline phones are not active in residence hall rooms. To have one activated, contact Occupancy Management at 303-492-6673.

  7. Must I bring my own telephone?

    Yes. See above.

  8. How do I make a long distance phone call?

    If you activate your phone line, you may request a long distance code from ITS. For further information call 303-735-HELP.
