- Are rooms wired with Ethernet?
-
All student units in the residence halls are wired with Ethernet, one jack per unit. (College Inn provides only wireless Internet access.)
-
- Do you provide wireless Internet?
-
Yes. All residence halls have wireless Internet except for Smith Hall.
-
- If my building doesn’t have wireless Internet yet, can I set up my own wireless router?
-
No. Personal routers are prohibited in all residence halls, family housing, and Bear Creek. Improper set-up can easily disrupt connectivity to an entire floor, building, or area. Additionally, one in five routers aren’t equipped with any security, leaving the network wide open to hackers.
-
- Is there a charge for computer hook-ups?
-
No. The cost for installation and operation of the ResNet system is already built into the existing room and board charges for your room.
-
- Do you have cable TV?
-
Yes. Basic cable service is free. Premium channels are available through Comcast Cable Service.
-
- Do I have to get my own phone service hooked up?
-
Yes. Landline phones are not active in residence hall rooms. To have one activated, contact Occupancy Management at 303-492-6673.
-
- Must I bring my own telephone?
-
Yes. See above.
-
- How do I make a long distance phone call?
-
If you activate your phone line, you may request a long distance code from ITS. For further information call 303-735-HELP.
