- How much does it cost to live in the residence halls?

Please see the Residence Hall Rates web page for current pricing. Please note that prices are approved by the CU Board of Regents and are subject to change.

- Am I required to purchase a meal plan?
-
Yes. All residence hall students are required to have a meal plan assignment. All freshmen must purchase a traditional meal plan with 19 or 15 meals per week. Sophomores and upper-division students have a choice of 19-, 15-, or 10-meals per week plan. Block Meal (120, 80, or 50 meals per semester) and restricted room-only (no meals) plans are available to eligible sophomores and upper-division students assigned to Reed or apartments in Williams Village or Kittredge.

-
As a residence hall student, you can eat in any of the five residence hall dining centers or five grab-n-go locations.
-
- Are there a vegetarian options offered?
-
Yes. Each of the residence hall dining centers offers a wide variety of foods, including vegetarian and vegan options, along with comfort foods and healthy alternatives. Take a look at the menus.
-
- Can I be released from my meal plan?
-
Releases from meal plan assignments are generally not given unless a student terminates occupancy from the residence halls. However, if documented and severe circumstances, clearly beyond the control of the student, make it unreasonable for the university to expect the student to maintain an assigned meal plan, the student may petition to amend the assignment. If an amended meal assignment is approved, students may be required to move to another room/facility depending on the situation. Written petitions should be addressed to the Housing & Dining Services dietitian or designee and will not be accepted after August 20, 2008, for the fall semester, and January 6, 2009, for the spring semester. The student will receive written approval or denial of the petition within 30 days of submission.top
