Kittredge Honors Program

kittredge honors progam

High-ability students find a high-powered intellectual environment in the Kittredge Honors Program (KHP), which combines the community of a small liberal arts college with the advantages of a large research university. KHP students will be housed in Arnett Hall in the Kittredge Community.

KHP students take one KHP honors seminar each semester in their residence hall and attend KHP functions that are designed to create both a supportive neighborhood and stimulating academic environment. All KHPers are assigned to small groups that are led by KHP alumni under the guidance of the program director. The student leaders and their groups engage in a wide range of extracurricular activities. KHP Symposia, town meetings, and guest speakers are introduced to give KHP'ers an early start on connecting to CU's resources and unique opportunities available to motivated students. This program is focused on academic success and learning the pathways necessary to graduate with honors from CU.

KHP courses are limited to 17 students, fulfill the university core curriculum, and are taught by some of the university's best instructors. Past course offerings have included Ethics of Ambition, The American Political System, Shakespeare for Non-majors, Experiencing Art, and World Music.

KHP is the residential option of the CU Honors Program.
