In this new millennium, the most successful people will be those that have become internationally adept. The Smith Hall International Program (SHIP) seeks to further students' recognition of global interdependencies and to promote international understanding.
SHIP provides a great environment for first-year students planning to major in the arts, anthropology, business, foreign languages, geography, history, international affairs, journalism, or political science; those planning to earn an international certificate in the Leeds School of Business; those interested in studying abroad; or those simply interested in learning about the world. If you have not yet decided upon a major, SHIP is a great place to discover your international interests.
All SHIP students take a designated course with an international focus in the fall semester. SHIP language clubs, field trips, and special presentations by faculty, who are renowned for their international work, provide informal learning opportunities outside the classroom.
