Student Conduct Officer

All 2013-2014 positions have been filled. Please check back in Jan 2014 for information on the next hiring season.

Duties include adjudicating cases of student misconduct as assigned, assisting in the conduct administrative procedure including database maintenance and creation of decision letters, and assisting the Assistant Director and the Coordinator for Student Conduct in completing assigned conduct projects as necessary.  SCOs meet with students who allegedly violate university policy, challenge and support these students, determine responsibility of violations, assign sanctions per procedure, and engage in follow up communication.  Conduct cases may involve such violations as alcohol, marijuana, theft, vandalism, noise or safety issues.  Top candidates will have an understanding of student development and residential communities as well as strong interpersonal and administrative skills.  SCOs report to the Coordinator for Student Conduct.  Minimum qualifications: Student at the University of Colorado at Boulder.  Must have and maintain 3.0+ cumulative GPA to apply and continue in the position.  A background check will be required of all successful applicants and University conduct records will be screened. Preferred qualifications: Pursuing a graduate degree; progressive experience in Student Conduct or Residence Life. Experience working with conduct processes. Position Start Date: August 2013 at the latest.  Candidates would ideally be available starting April 2013 for training.  No summer work with the exception of potential/optional training.
