Village Center Construction

Village Center Dining and Community Commons

The Williams Village Neighborhood began a complete renovation in July 2015, that will last until approximately January 2017. The project is replacing Darley Commons, a building that was constructed in 1969, but hadn't had any significant upgrades since. Darley Commons has been completely demolished, all debris has been removed from the site and the new building is currently under construction on the old building site.

The new Village Center Dining and Community Commons will serve as the hub of activity for the Williams Village Neighborhood and will house a number of services and features for our students. Some of these include:

  • State-of-the-art dining center, showcasing local and regional foods
  • Late-night Grotto Cafe
  • Indoor and outdoor seating
  • Large divisible multipurpose room with separate break-out rooms
  • Tutoring office suite
  • Study and lounge areas
  • Wardenburg Health Center Annex

It's an exciting project that will enhance the living and learning experience for our residents, but we also acknowledge that there may be some inconvenience to our current residents and summer conference attendees due to construction. We apologize for any disruption this may cause.

While the new building is under construction, dining services are available in Stearns Central. There is a quick-serve restaurant (Village Express) and a retail store (Village Market) available to serve our Williams Village Neighborhood.
