Dietary Needs & Allergens

Housing & Dining Services is committed to providing options and information to all of our guests with dietary restrictions and preferences. Below you will find information on our food allergen program, Kosher and Halal selections, and vegan/vegetarian options. Please contact Dining Services with questions or concerns regarding food choices.

A9 Identified Allergen Project

  • The top eight food allergens (eggs, dairy, shellfish, fish, tree nuts, peanuts, soy, wheat) and gluten are identified and clearly labeled on all foods served in the dining centers
  • Gluten-free breads, bagels, and cereals are available in the dining centers, and The Bakery creates and serves a variety of gluten-free baked goods
  • Retail and grab-n-go outlets offer gluten-free items and also label all prepared food for allergens


  • Certified kosher restaurant located in the Center for Community dining center, supervised by a full-time Mashgiach
  • Food items are 100 percent Glatt Kosher, following the laws of Kashrut
  • All food items are dairy free and served on compostable dishes


  • Persian restaurant located in Center for Community dining center offering a variety of Halal foods
  • Supervised by Chef Hadi Montazeri
  • Expanding selection of Halal meats
  • All food items that contain pork and/or alcohol are noted on the dining center menu tags


  • All dining centers and grab-n-go outlets offer vegan and lacto-ovo vegetarian options
  • Vegan and lacto-ovo vegetarian dishes are clearly labeled in all dining establishments
  • Multiple selections are offered daily to provide variety
