How do I sign up for tutoring?

We use an app called Penji to do all our tutor sign ups. Download the app and log in with your identikey email to get started.

When do I start?

Once you download the app and request a session with your tutor, he or she will confirm and let you know your start date. Please allow up to 48 hours for a reply to your request.

Where do I meet my tutor?

Currently, ASAP tutoring sessions are being held virtually over zoom. You will receive communication from your tutor about how to join the session.

How often do I meet for tutoring?

ASAP will have two tutoring options for spring 2021. We will continue to offer our traditions weekly group tutoring sessions. When you sign up for the weekly group session, you are expected to attend each week. Please let your tutor know in advance if you are unable to attend one week. We will also be offering one-on-one drop-in tutoring session this semester. You may sign up for both options through the Penji app.

What if I cannot make a session?

As long as you notify your tutor-mentor 24 hours in advance, no problem. Currently, three (3) missed or skipped tutoring sessions will result in you being dropped from the program.

Will my tutor do my homework?

ASAP tutors are here to help you understand concepts that may show up on your homework, but we are not going to do the work for you. You should use your homework as a way to test yourself, then ask your tutor any questions you may have about completing it. In order to get the most out of your tutoring session you should attempt your homework or other course work before your session, and come prepared with questions.

What if I have other questions about the program?

If you have any questions about how tutoring works, how to sign up or anything else about ASAP, please reach out to us at asap@colorado.edu

Who can get tutoring?

ASAP tutoring is available to all first-year students (whether you live on campus or not) and all students living on campus. If you live off campus, you can still reach out and we can try to help you find assistance.
